Engine of the month

FAI have developed a range of over 60 parts to service this iconic engine. The 3.0 diesel M57 D30 powered the most popular BMW models for over a decade which sold in droves compared to comparable petrol units that, although loved by enthusiasts, felt like someone was siphoning off fuel whilst you slept. The M57 D30 stayed ahead of Euro emission standards and then in 2007 BMW introduced Efficient Dynamics. Tweaks in the fueling process and various electronic aides which reduced power loss whilst on the move gave birth to a breed of car that is still highly sought after. Most of the cars have now changed hands several times, with each owner driving as enthusiastically as the last, enjoying the ‘Ultimate Driving Machine’.
