FAI Sponsored Chaz Davies – Round 10 WSBK – Portimao
Round 9 of the championship (Euro speedway - Germany) saw Chaz Davies pull off a remarkable double win for team aruba.it, stunning fans in race two by starting in 9th position and accelerating to race leader by lap 11.
This weekend (Sep 16th & 17th) will see a return of the iconic Portimao track (Autodrome Internacional do Algarve) having been missed out of last years line-up. A decision welcomed by the WSBK community due to its unique layout and unpredictable surface, Davies welcomes the challenge and will be on the attack to gain maximum points with just 4 rounds left.
...Portimao...fun and challenging to ride...
Chaz will have an early start to the weekends proceedings by resuming action at Fridays free practise session. As always Chaz is itching to get back in the saddle, here's what he had to say -
"It always feels good to get back to racing, especially coming from a double win in the last round. Portimao is a really nice track, we haven't raced there recently but we've always done some testing there over the winter, so it's a circuit we all know. I think its bumpy nature will suit our package. It's always fun and challenging to ride, because it's bumpy and the tarmac is a bit different every time we go there, sort of like what happens in motocross, so it's tough to get every detail right. We've been on the podium there a couple of times in different weather conditions, but we'll try our best to improve our stats further. I'm looking forward to get back on the Panigale R"
The FAI team are looking forward to another heart-stopping instalment and wish Chaz the best of luck (not that he needs it)...
