FAI have a rich motorsport heritage and have enjoyed sponsorship of some incredibly talented individuals on the track. Somebody that we recognised as a strong character and performer years ago was Chaz Davies, a gifted motorcycle racer that has seen fantastic career progression from the start in 1999 when he debuted on a Minimoto. Before reaching the World Superbike Championship, Chaz had already raced for one season in the 125cc World Championship, four in the 250cc and one in MotoGP in addition to competing in the AMA Supersport Championship.

Since 2012, Chaz has had continuous progression through the ranking in WorldSBK, finishing ninth in his debut campaign. The Welshman finished the following season in 5th position overall on a BMW and in 2014 he moved to Ducati and took sixth position in the standings. In the last two seasons, Chaz has become one of the main protagonists of the Championship and a real contender for the title.

In 2015 he secured the runner-up spot after winning five races and securing a total of 18 podiums, surpassed only by number 1; Jonathan Rea. The following year, he improved dramatically and won 11 races, stepped onto the podium 16 times and took the fastest lap in 10 races. This performance makes him one of the great contenders for the 2017 crown in his fourth season with Aruba .it Racing-Ducati.
