In 2013 Citroen unveiled the second generation C4 Picasso. The Picasso uses the new EMP2 platform shared with the Peugeot 308. Interestingly the new EMP2 platform is lighter than the previous PF2, so the new Picasso is lighter than the smaller C3 Picasso. From 2018 Citroen rebadged the Picasso as the Spacetourer. The Spacetourer is a great family car that offers space, style, comfort, low running costs and a brilliantly thought-out interior.
The petrol engine range consists of a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo with either 110hp or 130hp, although only the entry-level Touch Edition gets the lower power output & a 1.6-litre 120, 155 or 165hp THP. The diesel range comprises 1.6 and 2.0 BlueHDi units. The 1.6 BlueHDi has either 100hp or 120hp, although again the former is only offered in Touch Edition trim. The 2.0 BlueHDi is a 150hp engine. All engines bar the 110hp PureTech appear in the Grand C4 SpaceTourer.
The BlueHDi 100 diesel is the most efficient model in the range, claiming 74.3mpg fuel economy and CO2 emissions of 99g/km.
