The Tiguan name has been around for 17 years, believe it or not! Despite a mid-life face life in 2012, it wasn’t until the second generation launch in 2016 did we see any significant amends to the popular SUV. This new version had a lot to live up to, following the original that clocked up over 2.6 million sales.
The German automotive giant set out to tick all the boxes for family motoring in what had become a busy segment full of choice. Built on the MQB platform the Tiguan offered more practicality in all areas of the vehicle. Additional headroom, legroom and 50 litres more boot space, addressed all criticisms of the outgoing version.
The Tiguan was never designed to speak to the soul when behind the wheel, as an Alfa Stelvio might but still performs well on all fronts. Surefooted and comfortable on the move, those long journeys full of camping gear is where the Tiguan excels.
